^{GENERAL RULES
No Power Playing ;; This means no playing other people’s characters, no injuring/maiming/killing other characters without the permission of their player, no being all powerful- every character has weaknesses and therefore cannot win at everything, no mind reading- unless the character says it in game play do not assume that you don’t know about it.

OOC ;; Please limit any OOC messages to the OOC boards or PM, a small message at the end of a post is acceptable, for example <<sorry for the bad post, I’ve had a bad week>>, but please clearly mark that it is out of character in the post,

Be Nice ;; No bad mouthing of other players on the boards, if you have a problem with someone keep it to PM or notify the admins

Graphics ;; Each character should have a 100x100 avatar in their profile, if you don’t have one feel free to ask any admin for one. Banners in your signature are acceptable and encouraged, but limit the size to no greater than 500x250 so as not to stretch the board, any image that violates this will be removed.

ProBoards Terms of Service ;; We are required to adhere to the ProBoards Terms of Service as are any members who join. Anyone in violation of those terms will be removed from the board.

POSTING

;; All posts must be at least three paragraphs long (acceptable length of one paragraph is 5-7 sentences long). If you prefer to write in shorter paragraphs or shorter sentences than please make posts that are at least 300 words long.

;; Post in third person [omniscient] in past tense. For example, use phrases such as: He said, Ben inquired; not: I asked, I replied.

;; Use proper grammar and good spelling. Spell checking posts before posting them is always a good option. We aren’t expecting you to be perfect, everyone makes mistakes, but don’t make them every sentence. Also, do not use net speak, if your character has a specific rhetoric you may express that in their quotes but please do not write the whole post that way.

;; Keep all language at a PG-13 level or lower. If the admin team feels like your post is too vulgar we will censor it and ask you to tone your language down.

;; Players are required to post at least once a week with each character they own. If you are going to be unable to do that for a short period of time please let us know in the absent board. Real life catches up to all of us at times and we understand if you have the occassional busy week that will limit your posting.

;; This RPG uses a timeline method, if you are confused as to how that works please consult an admin, we will happily fill you in. Do not post in more than one place at a time. Characters can move between threads during each time period.

;; If your character leaves a thread during a time period please make a note of that at the end of your post with the location of where your character is going, for example <<Ben leaves and goes to the Beach>>. Also, be realistic in where your characters go, for example, a character will not be able to go from the Beach Camp to the Barracks in a matter of minutes, that trip would take at least a few hours.

;; Please note who you are tagging in your thread in the subject line. Such as <<attn: Ben>> if you are tagging a specific character or <<attn: any>> if you would like anyone to join you. This will help those of us who have multiple characters to know where we are needed. You can tag a specifc person, several people, a specific group, anyone, or no one.

;; Do not create your own threads, reply to threads that have already been created. Each time there is a time change a new thread will be created by the admin team that corresponds with the new day and time. When you reply be sure you are replying to the thread that is labeled with the correct day and time.

;; You may use whatever color and size you want in your posts but be realistic with them. If you use a color under than the standard color make sure it is still easy to read, a bright yellow for example would be very hard to read. The same goes with font size, don't use a size that is huge or too small.

CHARACTERS
;; All characters must have a profile, this is our way of knowing who your character is before they enter the game. Use the profile template and fill out everything before submitting it.

;; Be realistic with your characters. No one is invincible or perfect. Mary-Sue’s and Gary-Sue’s will not be accepted under any circumstances and if your application seems too much like that type of character we will ask you to change it. And keep the show in consideration when you are creating your character, be sure that they fit in with everything that has happened.

;; Despite the fact that there are a specific number of people who survived the crash on the show we are willing to exceed that number. But note that not everyone on the island is a survivor of the crash, the Others also need members.

;; Your character must be either a Survivor or one of the Others. A few exceptions can be made if you have consulted with the admin team first and your character’s history is well thought out.

;; All characters must be represented by different models. Use specific people, not cartoons/anime/or anything of that sort. You cannot use someone who is already taken, consult the face claim list to see who is taken. And be realistic with who you use to represent your character, for example do not use someone who is 30 years old to represent a character who is only 15.

;; At this time there is no limit as to how many characters you can create, but if you create them you must be active with all your characters.

;; Each character must have their own account and the display name must be your character’s first and last name.

;; Exceptions to any of the these character rules will be made on a one to one basis but you must contact a member of the admin team for that exception to be made. Do not just post your application and hope we accept it. Unless you ask for an exception we won't know if we need to make one.

IN CONCLUSION
;; We as the admin team are very realistic people, that being said if you have actually read the rules to this point you deserve an award. We understand that not everyone is going to read through every rule in every detail but you are responsible for everything on this post regardless of whether or not you have read it.

;; If you have any questions feel free to contact an admin and we will help you to the best of our ability.

**The admin team reserves the right to modify the rules at any point. If a modification is made it will be announced before hand.}
